The DSSAB is committed to collecting, using, and disclosing information responsibly and will ensure that safeguards are in place to ensure accountability. Should a privacy violation complaint be received, the DSSAB will endeavor to resolve complaints in a timely manner and take appropriate measures to alleviate recurrences.
The DSSAB investigates all privacy violation complaints. If a complaint is found to be justified, the DSSAB will take appropriate measures, including disciplinary action and/or amendment of its policies and practices, if warranted. Should a breach of confidentiality be found to have occurred, the Privacy Officer adheres to the Privacy Breach Protocol.
All privacy or private health information complaints relating to the collection, use, disclosure, storage, and disposal of personal information must be forwarded to the Privacy Officer, in writing.
